My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: West Virginia
Hello, I am here because I am quite upset and frightened. I have two issues.
My roommate and I have a year lease at a lovely home, and we have only been living here for about 2 months. Everything was fine until her friend was "having issues at home". She told the guest that they could come and stay for a month without even asking me. The guest has been here for about 2 weeks, and doesn't seem to intend on leaving. The guest has stated that they have attempted suicide before living here, cuts himself, etc. The guest also has a pill problem. Our lease states that guests cannot stay longer than 15 days, but I also just don't feel safe with this maniac.
Another issue is her (my roommate's) temper. I have to watch what I say, how I say it; call it "acting". In the past, she has terrorized other females, from being rude to actually vandalizing their stuff. She has even stated that she "hopes they die/drives off a cliff/gets stabbed to death". To put it honestly, she's been rude to me, and has told me that I am pissing her off, when I've tried nothing but to stay out of her way and keep her calm. I'm terrified of her, and terrified of telling her that the guest needs to go, because she will vandalize and destroy my items should she get mad enough. The room in which I sleep does not lock, and to be honest, I am afraid that her (with her crazed aggression) and the guest (with their suicidal tendencies and pill addiction) may actually try to harm me.
I am downright terrified, scared, and I do not know what to do. Is there anyway she could possibly get evicted, or is there any way I could move out early legally? Please help, because I have no idea what to do besides fake kindness and sleep with one eye open.![]()
