Default Wrongfully Terminated and Defamation in Kansas

Here is my situation. My company was recently acquired by a larger company and as a result we have new upper management we all indirectly report to. For the past several months they have been unwilling to communicate to us what is going on. Our boss has refused to help us work things out, and as a result we have an "us and them" situation. Also I have had to file to formal complaints against my boss for abusive and hostile behavior in the workplace.

Last week we had an issue on one of our computers and the blame was put squarely on my shoulders and they are saying I intentionally caused harm to the company. This even though at the time I have a witness that was with me confirming that I did not do what they say I did and also that everyone else has said I have not done anything intentional to cause harm.

On Thursday I was called into an office with my boss, our new indirect boss and our VP of HR. They told me that I was being suspended with pay pending a full investigation. I was told to give them all belongings I had of the companies including cell phone and was given NO documentation or asked to sign anything. I have now learned they intend to fire me and that they have been saying I am still doing harm and damage to the company. My boss is dead set to get rid of me and is actively telling everyone in the company I am a bad person, I intentionally am causing harm and in general an aweful person.

    Do I have a case?

    Default Wrongful Termination

Possibly - unfortunately, there are a great many factors which go into evaluating a wrongful termination case, and trying to assess your case over the Internet would be a bit like trying to perform a medical diagnosis online - you really should set up a meeting with a plaintiff-side employment lawyer in your state, to have your situation reviewed, and to discuss any strategies you should follow before the formal termination decision is made which may strengthen your position.
