My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: CA
Wife and I signed a lease for a home we occupied. Lease has 8 more months to run.
She now wants a divorce, abruptly moves out. Says she is no longer obligated on the lease payments because I had the locks changed.
She wouldn't move back here anyway, but seems to me she is still obligated.
Would be same thing as a car lease or purchase, in CA a community property state, a joint obligation is a joint obligation whether or not you have the car or the other perosn has it.
