My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
I received a ticket for "failing to stop at a stop sign" on a bicycle at my University. I just received the courtesy notice in the mail, however it only says CVC 22450(a) Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, and does not say "Bicycle" or "on a bike" anywhere. Furthermore, the bail amount with traffic school is $297. This is my first violation I have ever received on a bike. Could this have been improperly written up as a vehicle violation instead of a bike? As I mentioned, it gives me two options for bail, one fine without traffic school, and one offering traffic school which leads me to believe it was written up incorrectly as a vehicle violation as I don't believe traffic school is offered or even necessary for a bike violation? What do you think?
