Default Employee Fired and Told to Reimburse Employer for Misappropriated Property

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Nevada.

Yesterday at my place of work a lot happened. 2 employees were fired for "a tip they received".

Long story short my other manager was told he was letting employees take items home that were marked out of the system for destroy meaning they go in the trash. They said he let them take them home instead of throwing them away. If it is true or not is not my concern but what they did to him is what concerns me. Corporate loss prevention interrogated him in the office for hours telling him multiple people have come to them saying he let them take items home marked for destroy.

At the end of the interrogation they asked him for names of employees which took stuff home which didn't make sense since they said they told them about this. They have no video footage no witness no one they will say who actually told them this nothing. They said they have satellite cameras in the sky that beam down on the back of the store by the trash can which caught him and employees doing this (which I believe is total BS this company does not have satellite cameras on back of their stores for 1-200$ items).

They are making him pay back a number they made up of $400 which they pulled out of no where and still have no proof of anything and said they are going to search his apartment and prosecute him. I just don't believe this to be acceptable and must be illegal since they haven't got a single piece of evidence. Anything he can do?

Shut up without a lawyer present. Do not allow anyone into the apartment to search without a warrant.

File for unemployment. It's a long shot given this reeks of misconduct but as they say in the other threads, file anyway and let the state decide.

Stay out of it. This is none of your concern; you do not know what evidence they have. However, the employer is not a court of law and they are not required to have evidence or proof. Nothing you've posted suggests any laws have been broken.

Only reason I am getting involved is because I quit and my last day is tomorrow, his already got a new job but his just angered that they said all of this about him when he hasnt done anything (I believe him because I watch the cameras and talked to employees).

Just their blatant lies are ridiculous about satellite cameras, they also stated that the satellite cameras follow employees after work which is illegal.

Which do you believe is illegal? That the satellite cameras follow employees? Or saying it? Under which law do you believe either is illegal?
