Default Judgment Terms for Spousal Maintenance

My question involves a marriage in the state of: Washington

There is a clause on my husband's divorce papers that reads: The Husband shall pay $10,000 maintenance. Maintenance shall be paid bi-yearly up to $5,000 increments paid from his bi-yearly bonus for a total of $10,000.

    Facts:
My husband's does not have a bi-yearly bonus.
    Questions:
    1. Does it mean that he needs to pay her a total of $10,000 and that's it?
    2. Does it mean that he needs to pay her $5,000 twice per year?

We are very confuse. Please help. Thanks

    Default Re: Maintenance

We can't see the decree; your husband should have a consult with an attorney. From my interpretation though, $10k is the total amount owed.
