Do I have to go through unlawful detainer case in CA if my tenant has already abandoned the premise(05/06/2014), but did not remove his valuable belongings? I gave him a 3 day pay or quit notice yesterday at his work. I gave it to him and he said ok. No other response. He rented a bedroom and living room in my house. Verbal rental agreement done 12/01/2012. I just want his belongings removed. Can I just storage it after the 3 day pay or quit notice expires, then change the locks. Then I can put the space up for rent again.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
