My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: New York
Someone received a statement in the mail from State of New York for "Notice of Impending Driver License Suspension and Conviction". It says that there was a Bike Red Light Violation with fines and risk of license suspension, etc. It is asking to go online if wish to plead guilty and pay fines. If ticket not answered before specified date, conviction of the charge will be executed and fines increased. The statement has name on it, but it's mispelled, and the birthday is incorrect. Possible stolen identity? There is no copy of ticket (though there is a ticket number), no phone number on this statement to call. Should it just be ignored (doesn't live in NY), or should this person fax them her drivers license showing mistaken identity or something?
