My question involves education law in the State of: WI

I am currently a student in a cosmotology school. I was recently told my credit hours are short and I owe several hundred dollars in order to make up my lack of hours. I asked for a print out of my hours so I could see where I missed hours. I was surprised and unsure how my hours got so low. I was denied the print out I requested. Subsequenty I got a check back for over payment of tution. Because of my confusion with getting money back and being asked to pay. I asked for a meeting with the staff to figure out what is going on. I haven't been give an appointment as of yet. I am scared as I have heard horror stories of other students who were forced to pay alot of extra money and others who were kicked out for lack of hours. Many who were did not know they were missing hours. Is there anything else I can do to make sure I am prepared? Can I file a complaint somewhere? If the worst does happen and I am aksed to leave school can I take any legal actions. Thank you.
