My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nevada
I was wondering if I can be charged with accessory or anything else for that matter?
Friend and I have a unruly roommate, he did something spiteful towards us. My friend had to move out, before he moved out he disconnected brakes to a bike in the room. He assumed it was that roommates, however it wasn't. Another roommate road the bike and claims to have almost gotten hit by a car, he didn't seem upset at first. He asked us calmly, my friend admitted to it. Now he wants to press charges, somewhere along the line of accidentally telling them more then they needed to hear, I said the only thing I did was not do anything about it. My friend had told me he was "..maybe going to mess with the bike before I leave..." I didn't take him seriously, and now they are trying to charge me. Can I be charged with accessory before the fact? I in no way encouraged, aided, or abetted the crime. Also as a side note what charges could my friend be seeing? In general is there any advice on how to approach this?
