My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: California
Under a pretty standard jointly and severally liable lease with multiple people. Lease allows for one pet on the property under strict rules and includes a pet deposit.
What kind of legal options do I have if a co-tenant originally told me that they were going to talk to the landlord about bringing in a new puppy, they bring the puppy, and I recently find out that the landlord hasn't talked to them in a while about anything.
The lease does not allow for any additional dogs besides my own that I paid a pet deposit for.
I informed the co-tenant of everything that I had to do for my dog before they brought the puppy home and they had acknowledged these facts during the same conversation as when they told me they were going to tell the landlord about it.
Is there anything I can do to protect myself here, and what can I do to try to bring everything into good order, positively for everyone?
