Default What Should You Do if Sued Over Your Unpaid Debt

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Indiana

I just received a Summons for court without a complaint attached to the summons. Should I contact the Plaintiff's lawyer to work out a payment plan? My only income is from Social Security, have a 14 year old truck, and an over mortgaged home.

If you wish to try to work out a payment plan, then the way to settle the lawsuit with a payment plan is through the plaintiff's lawyer. You can also appear and defend - you don't want to default even if you're negotiating a settlement. You can also talk to a bankruptcy lawyer and, if you're of limited means, you may qualify for legal aid.
