    Default Making the Father File for Paternity

    I want to take my childrens father for child support but my youngest daughter doesnt have his last name because when I had her he was incarcerated at the time ,now my youngest daughter is 3 years old ,and i want her to have his last name his name isnt on the birth certificate ,buy my other daughter has his last name ,what do i need to do in order to get him to file for paternity

    You can't make him file. The odds are that if you are applying for social support ("welfare" or ADC) the social services agency will commence a paternity action on your behalf, which will result in his being adjudicated the father. You can also file a paternity action.
