My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: N/A
I signed a joint lease with an individual for a certain period of time that is about to end. The lease makes no mention of pets. The landlord, in "texts" with my roommate and through informal conversations with him said, however, no pets. My roommate brought a pet in anyway. There is minor damage and the landlord is generally friendly. My roommate is moving out soon and I will be here for a couple of weeks longer. He doesn't seem to want to clean up his mess, and the debris, though minor, will most likely be apparent in certain areas. Anyway, what can I do to solve this problem? (granted, I'm going to wait until he leaves before I make any calls). I just do NOT want any kind of problem here with my landlord. Also, how liable am I for these actions of my roommate? (granted, I was most likely consensual with it by not really doing much about it).
