Two years ago I worked for a retail clothing chain in Califronia. I was caught stealing by internal theft inspectors. I was brought into the management office, and signed paperwork telling my side of the story-basically i did not admit to the crime. I was sent home, but I never returned to my employment. I feared I would be arrested. About a week later, I recieved my final check in the mail, and a letter demanding payment of the goods in question. I paid the amount-$400.00, and never heard from them again. No police officers were involved, and I never appeared before a judge. Will this show up in a background check for employment, in California?
