Default Publishing Identifying Information About the Supporters of a Cause

Sorry if posted on the wrong section.

ok can someone help me with this scenario. Fake names will be used.

So lets assume 1000-100000 people join together for a good cause, but that cause, caused the death of 1000+ people they were told it could cause more deaths but they decided to act on there emotions instead of what is logical, the bad outweighed the good by a lot. Now this person named John decides to release the information of all the people who supported this cause, Adresses, phone numbers, name, and a single picture gathered from facebook, keep in mind all this information is already for the public ex: facebook, whitepages etc, but what john did is he organized the information so you could just click on your state/city and find out if anyone supported the cause in your city. Now lets assume Ken had a child and this child died due to the *good cause* so ken decides to use john released information to find out were some supporters live and he kills them. Now john never had the intention for anybody to use this information to murder someone. Can john get in trouble for releasing information which is already released to the public ex: facebook, whitepages etc?

Can john also use the pictures from facebook?

    Thanks for your help.

Why are you advocating the assassination of our entire political system?

I'm sorry, my mind is too boggled at the idea of a "good cause" that caused thousands of deaths and had the potential to cause more. Since you're talking about Facebook I think we can assume that you're not talking about the American Revolution.

Maybe when my head gets itself around the concept a little more I might have an answer for you, but I wouldn't count on it.

Short answer to the exceedingly vague question is that the person providing the info MIGHT find himself facing civil action if not criminal charges for facilitating the killing in some way. The details and the state involved would matter.

In general, we try not to discuss hypotheticals here because there are too many variables that cannot be addressed.

If this is something you plan to do, you should consult a lawyer in whatever country you're in.
