My question involves criminal law for the state of: Louisiana.
I was at the wrong place at the wrong time with two other people at Target. We got stopped at the door by a security who brought us into the office for questioning etc. I however had nothing but just happened to be with them so I also got arrested for the shoplifting. Total price for items were less than $500 and the guys there said that we weren't going to get arrested but just given a citation/court date. But once the officer got there, he decided to do the paperwork and take us all 3 to jail. Meanwhile, we decided not to get a bail bond, we were released within a few hours. This happened sometime in early January. It is now March and we have yet to receive a court date or any papers regarding the incident. Can someone tell me what will happen? I've already spoken to an attorney when the incident happened but we still haven't received anything. Any reason on why it is taking so long? Help!
