No, I'm south of Boston, nowhere near NH.
That's what they say now. When you've interrupted them enough times, things will change.

It must be nice to work somewhere that views a customer asking a simple 15 second time consuming task that was already scheduled to be done as a bad thing. I personally have never worked anywhere like that

Not all Targets do. Can I post pics here ? Cause I would LOVE to post pics of 4 of my local Targets when they open . 1 in particular is a HUGE fire hazard. None of my stores stock over night they all get the truck at like 4 am and stock from there.
See, you are re-selling these items. You're taking sales away from the HONEST consumer. And also time the clerk could be stocking items. And its not a 15 second task to dig through boxes.
If you really need these items to re-sell, again, go to the store LATER once they have the shelves stocked, and then get these items.
I am not honest because I resell ? So I guess it does not matter that I also buy hundreds of dollars worth of formula and diapers as well ? The items I buy are mainly for overseas customers who ask me to get them for them because there not available over there. I make a fraction off the item that Target does and they still get the sale. One would think me buying the items on truck day first thing in the morning would make the manager say hey lets order more but since computers order everything that does not happen. I means not my fault the store does not reorder the items and in all honestly that trend just sends more people my way. Look I get what I do is frowned on but you think I agree with McDonalds calling there meat like things hamburgers ? You think I like the Cops who have to ticket cars ? You think I like peoples jobs like Red Bull guys stocking those coolers that stuff is poison but I don't get in their way I say live and let live. If a customer ever was to tell the manager hey that guy bought what I wanted why am I bad ? Why not the manager who does not bother to try to order the item for the customer but instead tells them to look online.
Just to keep things straight, I don't give a damn whether you resell or not.
But if you don't want to get banned from the stores, now or later, go later in the day.
As cbg said:
why you do what is irrelevant. The store does not have to accomdate your requests and apparently you have worn out your welcome at at least that one store.
And for that matter, I don't care if the item is setting on the shelf. If they decide they don't want you to buy it, they have the right to not sell it to you. Whether it is sellable inventory or not does not change their rights to refuse to sell to you.
either learn to respect each individual stores rules or plan on spending some of that hard earned money defending criminal charges in court. It really is your choice.
I suggest you learn to run your business model around their business model or find another business to work with. What are your friends doing in the department while the assigned associate is box diving and talking to you?
and the computer ordering systems are never accurate. Why?
- Damaged items may not be written off right away. Best Buy for example placed all Electronic Returns in a locked cage in the backroom for a week, and did the returns all at once. Other stores may just log them on paper for a week and turn it in to Loss Prevention/Systems/Inventory department once a week.
- When I did the Liquor Department at a store, I had to have a certain amount before I could do a return sheet. So that could take a month to do.
- Next, you have shoplifting. Obviously, when someone steals an item, the inventory count is not going to be accurate.
I would also like to point out something else to you: When you buy these items and list them on EBay....I hope you are remembering to claim this as income on your taxes....
