Default Case Docket Number Not Yet Filed

Okay here goes the situation I shoplifted $80.00 boots from local retail store. I was detained by store security. I was immediately horrified as this was my first offense. I have never done this before and immediately addmitted everything and offered to pay whatever. They asked where the items were as they first said they caught me on tape, which they must not have. I had to tell them were the items was and where i put my items. I switched boots. At first they could not even find what I had done. Stupid me I tell them everything while I am crying and begging them not to call police. After they wrote a report with my help of finding the item, they ended up calling the police. They came but he let me go and told me he would call me to come to the station in the next two days. When the officer called I immediately set up a time to come in to be fingerprinted and mugshots. I was crying and so remorseful, embarassed and ashamed. After I had my booking he let me meet bail by just signing. I was given a date to appear in court. I hired a lawyer and my court appearance is scheduled for next week. My attorney said when he called they had yet to file a case docket number yet. Does this mean I have to go to court why is this happening I am so scared please give me advise I have called my lawyer but he has not gotten back to me.

Your lawyer appears to be indicating that certain paperwork is not yet ready with the court, which could cause a delay in your case. As panther indicates, though, you need to find out from your lawyer.
