Default Employer Mailed Private Medical Documents in a Window Envelope

My question involves civil rights in the State of New York

My husband's employer is the USPS. He was asked to submit my medical records for proof of him having to leave early from work. We submitted them. His time off was approved. I received them back in the mail today. They sent them in an envelope where the the front of the envelope is totally clear. It is just a huge window on the the front of the envelope. As I look at the sealed envelope, I am able to see the report from my doctor that includes VERY personal and private medical information! My husband is friends with our mailman as they are coworkers. I feel very violated. I'm embarrassed to write what can be seen so clearly. Advice?

You can certainly make a complaint, but that's about all you're going to get out of it.

    Nobody looked.

    Nobody cares.

Knock off the drama and get over it. This isn't worth a nickel to you, if that was what you were thinking.
