Post Aiding and Abetting a Runaway

My question involves criminal law for the state of: kansas

[INDENT]So someone I know was hanging out with a runaway. He took her places but he never provided her shelter. He was unaware of the fact that she was a runaway he thought she was 18 already. He has a preliminary hearing in a couple of weeks and I just want to know if he could face serious charges. Is he still held liable even though he did not know?

"I didn't know how old she was" is rarely if ever a viable defense.

How much older? Because if she looks anywhere under 30, he's screwed.

A preliminary hearing for what exactly? What statute/code section was he cited/arrested for?

Does it make any difference that he is only 18

    See K.S.A. Sec. 21-3612.

How old was the child, and what conduct led to his being charged? It was not simply giving her an occasional ride in his car.
