My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: UNITED STATES.
I have a question relating law, and not being born in the US,--> tying into work ethnics and SSN
A friend of mine(who won't be disclosed) wasn't born here and came to the US at the age of 3 and stayed here since then.
At age 16 she got caught stealing a 30 dollar watch, cops got involved, and she didn't go to "court".
This was her first offense ever and was a stupid mistake. She went to a program, and they said the records will be clean at the age of 18 as long as nothing else happens. She got NO COMMUNITY SERVICE, after the program it was as if nothing happened.
Year went by, she forgot about it all and is now trying to get a SSN through "obamas dream plan" to be able to work, etc, make money.
How does this affect it? On one part of the contract (to get a SSN) it asks if you've ever been arrested for, charged with, or convicted of a felony or misdemeanor in the US (don't include minor traffic violations). It says if you answered yes, for you to include a certified court disposition, arrest record, charging document, sentencing record, etc, etc. But she doesn't have any of that? She's stressing and worrying a lot and I feel extremely sad, can anyone help? Or have any knowledge in this area?
I'm going into law school so I'm practicing and learning new things about law. I am extremely worried about my friend and she is extremely stressed out. I want much information as possible but limited because her or her parents don't remember anything, Its as if they completely forgot.
