Default Charged With Inattentive Driving After Rear-Ending Another Car

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Minnesota

I rear ended a car today at very low speed. The other car was stopped at a light, and as I put on my brakes, I slid forward into it. There is a small crack(4"-6") in the other car's rear bumper, and a slight dent in my front bumper.
No one was hurt. Should I protest this? If so, how?

Do you have a valid reason to protest?
