My question involves personal property located in the State of: Pennsylvania
During yesterday's ice storm several branches fell from the neighbor's trees into my yard. Thankfully no damage was done and they are small enough that I should be able to cut them up and remove them myself.
There are, however, some larger branches that are "hanging by a thread" and will probably come down in the next storm -- one of which is in a place that could damage my home. Am I responsible for removing those branches before they can cause damage (since they hang over the property line), or is that my neighbor's responsibility? To complicate matters, the neighbor in question recently passed away and his executor is looking after the property. I called the executor today and he said he would call a tree company. I would just like to know if I'm legally obligated to help pay for it.
