My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: Louisiana

My wages are being garnished for a student loan dated in Fall of 1995. I have been disputing this loan ever since I found out it existed in the year 2000. I did not receive a loan. I had a full tuition scholarship and PELL grant. Recently the loan was sold to Pioneer Credit Recovery. I have written to Sallie Mae, Pioneer Credit Recovery and Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance. They have sent me promissory notes which appear to be my signature, but there are some obvious tracings. I have tried getting a police report on grounds of identity theft, but I was told that I am beyond my statute of limitation. I work as a nurse and I need to renew my license by this Friday, 1/31/14, which I cannot do unless Sallie Mae sends a letter to the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners stating that I am paying this loan. The original loan was for $2,625.00. The current balance is $4,065.19. I have already paid greater than $1,307.74 on the loan. I am lost because I feel like I am being robbed. I do not want to make agreements because I don not actually owe the loan even though it is such a small amount. The loan that I did get to pay for nursing school has been pain out. I don't see how they can put a hold on my license which will in turn put me out of work. Please advise.
