My question involves child abuse or neglect in the State of: calif.
What will happen when CPS closes a case and turns the case over to the state?
You've given absolutely no details. Have you asked CPS the question?
I didn't understand what they meant by this. They have been trying to locate the child but can't find her. Now they just recently told us they were going to close this case so the state can take over. What might happen when they close the case?
Katie, this is something you need to pursue with an attorney.
We don't know whose child it is, we don't know your connection to the situation, and we don't know the situation to begin with.
I was trying to be vague because I'm a new poster and it says not to give too much detail. There is a child who was taken from her school by her mother. The school has informed CPS of the missing child. The school believes that the mother is involved with drugs and that the child is being neglected and not in a safe environment. After trying to locate mother and child, CPS has informed us the family that they cannot locate mother or child and they want to close the case and turn it over to the state. I am trying to find out what the state is required to do and what will be the next steps to locate the mother and child.
And the reason Mom can't take her child is....what?
Katie, I'm trying to help you. But without critical information it's virtually impossible. So, I'm going to ask some questions, k?
1. Why isn't Mom allowed to take her child?
2. What proof is there that Mom does drugs?
3. Seriously - we need to know why Mom isn't allowed to take her own child.
4. Where is the father?
