    Exclamation Making Hang-Up Calls

My question involves criminal law for the state of: England
It was around 12 o'clock at night and my friend asked for my other friends number so that he could make it ring twice and then hang up for a joke. I gave the number thinking he would only let the phone ring twice, however he did this 3 times and then on the last one it got answerd and my friend who I gave the number to hung up. I did not know that he would ring 3 times - have I committed an offence?

You have committed a blunder. Call your friend, explain, apologize.

Well, they're not going hang, draw and quarter you and display your head on a pole, put it that way.

Call, apologize, and don't prank people again.

Seriously, kid - don't work yourself up over this. You're not going to jail, you're not getting a ASBO. Just do what you've been advised here, and move on.

The Queen might give you the William Wallace treatment or send you off to the Tower of London
