Default Can I Run Away to Live With My Dad

My question involves guardianship in the State of: Texas and Oklahoma
I'm 17 years old and I want to live with my dad in Oklahoma. When I ask my mom to leave she won't let me. My dad says that at 17 in Texas you can legally leave and she can't do anything about it. I want to leave and I've even thought about taking this to court if my mom doesn't let me, but I love my family I don't want to do anything to hurt them, I want to leave as calmly as possible. Please let me know If it is legal for me to just up and leave to go live with my dad or if I have to get a lawyer. Thank you

Default Re: Want to Live with My Dad

You might not get into any trouble - but Dad can get into a LOT of trouble.

Wait it out. You're 17 - just wait until you hit 18.
