Default Do I Have to Disclose Shoplifting While Applying for a License to Carry

My question involves criminal law for the state of: MA

I just took a firearms safety course and the instructor said when applying for the license to carry you need to state anytime you were a defendant in court.

When I was 18 I got caught stealing a five dollar of nyquil cold medicine. The police came and escorted me outside, called me stupid and let me go. They took my info and said expect a summons which I received a few weeks later. I appeared in court for the requested date and waited outside a courtroom. A gentleman comes out and says the offence is no big deal, just a 50 dollar fine, can be paid at another time requested. I came in a few days later and paid the fine.

Am I to report this on the License to carry application?
