Default When Can You Sue to Get Child Support

My question involves child support in the State of: New Hampshire

Hello! So I'm 17 years old and I have no contact with my father (who lives in AZ). He does not pay child support, although my mom attempted with the court system to make him a few years back. My mom mentioned something about trying to sue him for not paying. Can she do that? I don't understand that. How does that work?

    Thank you!

Your mother can do whatever she feels is the right thing to do. She should contact the court and/or the child support enforcement agency.

You should realize it's none of your business. Send her here if you think she needs/wants advice about it.

Thanks for the advice, but you are quite rude. How is it none of my business? If it weren't for me, this entire issue would not exist in the first place. Plus, my mother wants to get the child support money in order to help pay for my college. So it is my business.

You have no legal standing to do anything. Have mom come and post.

It's none of your LEGAL business, Junior.

But I'll throw in a freebie: even if Mom DOES file, she's only going to get support from the day she files.

If she thinks she's going to get support dating back years, she's going to be gravely disappointed.
