Default Can You Get a Dismissal if Your Name is Wrong on the Ticket

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Kalifornia

My friend got a ticket for not stopping at a stop sign, but the guy wrote the wrong name on the ticket.

Instead of Patrick, the guy wrote Patricia..........

Also, he misspelled the last name

The letter he got reflects the misspelled names.

Is this cause for dismissal, and can that be done at the arraignment?

OR, since the names on the case are BOTH wrong, does he need to show up at all, because the court case is under a wrong name?

Is the driver's license number on the citation correct? If so, it looks bleak for your friend.

What state is that? That wouldn't happen to be California, would it?

Okay. But, is the license number correct?

Is this cause for dismissal, and can that be done at the arraignment?
Generally, no, it is not cause for a dismissal. The arraignment court judge probably won't care to hear it, but if he wants to bring it up he can try.

OR, since the names on the case are BOTH wrong, does he need to show up at all, because the court case is under a wrong name?
If he fails to show then his license will be suspended and the fines will go to collections.
