Can You Get Retroactive Child Support After Separating

My question involves child support in the State of: Ohio
When child support is first filed in ohio will they start arrears from the day i moved out or the day it was filed, we have been seperated for four months and we were trying too work it out, will my arrears start from august or will they start from the day the order is.filed?

I haven't looked up your state's specific laws, but generally speaking (but not in all cases!) child supports begins from the day the motion was filed.

they will generally start the date of the court filing to initiate child support actions is filed. The order will not be filed until proper hearings have taken place but they will likely go back to the initial date of filing. (just trying to make it clear the difference between the order being filed (the actual court order establishing the amount of child support) and the application for child support (where the mother initially filed to initiate the child support process) being different issues and dates)
