My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Missouri
I signed a contract with my former employer that required me to repay them for training expenses if I left within one year of receiving that training. I left because I felt they weren't treating me fairly and I found a better paying job. In the contract it states one condition in which the contract is applicable and that condition is: "termination by employee of their employment with [NAME OF COMPANY] without cause". The contract does not define what "cause" is. I believe that I left "with cause" because I found a better paying job and they had threatened to fire me. Does this invalidate the contract because I left "with cause"?
