My question involves business law in the state of: new jersey .

hi , i work in a restaurant where the two owners stay all day , one behind the bar and the other in the dining room ( where i work ) .
they pretend to work as bartender and waiter , but only take care off a few customers , let say 5% ....
most off the time they do nothing , just watch us working .
all the tips are share by staff and also the two owners , we divide all tips at the end off the week and they received more than me , because its based on tips/points .
the owners give 6 points to themselves and older waiters ( ten years in the restaurant ) , and the others received 5 points , i have 4 points because i work only for two months at this job .
all the waiters do the same job , don't understand why i have to receive less than the others if i do the same ...
the main question is , is this legal the owners keep our tips ?
