My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Missouri

I left a company after signing a contract to repay them for training costs if I left within 1 year of receiving the training. I left after 3 months and they're now suing me for breach of contract. I don't have the means to pay for an attorney. They're asking for a default judgement. I will probably be forced to let it go to a default judgement. I would like to at least write a letter to the judge explaining why he/she should dismiss the case with prejudice. Would this be a good idea?
