    Default Statutory Rape in Minnesota

Was reading about the laws and got immensely confused do too hearing two different things while reading. So my question is:
In Minnesota, if a 14 year old and 17 year old (55 months apart) are dating and both consent to having sex, would the 17 year old be committing statutory rape?
I saw one place that said if the age difference was more that 24 months it was, another that said over 36 it was and a third that said over 48 that it would be. So needless to say I'm wondering which one is the actual up to date answer.

If you have to ask the question, it's fairly good sense to not do with your girlfriend/boyfriend anything you wouldn't do with your grandma.

That answer is no help whatsoever.. I get what you're saying, but it's a legitimate question, what are the actual laws, because multiple places have different answers.

    Check this:

    https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/?id=609.342

But, there are other issues that might apply. If you encourage the child to disobey her parents or otherwise act in a delinquent manner you can be charged crimes related to those actions ... not to mention that there is ALWAYS the possibility of a baby ... you ready for that???

So, best answer: DON'T DO IT!
