My question involves criminal law for the state of: California
Will a bench warrant show up on a job back round check for a fishing ticket I got? The court date was 3 months ago and I went into the court house and set up a surrender court date so I can just pay the fine. I called DMV and my license is still valid also. I missed the court date cause my wife was in a very bad car accident. I called and explained to the clerk who said its fine as long as I send in the form from them. I sent in the form from the ticket and said I wanted a court date which is not what your supposed to check. Its the arraignment box. My mistake. But now I am nervous I wont get this job cause of the bench warrant. I went to the courthouse today and they set me up with a surrender court date and to explain to the judge that I wish to just pay the fine in payments and go on with my life. Not gonna lob excuses at him just ask for forgiveness and ask to pay the fine. My court date is for next week and I don't plan on driving anywhere to run the risk of getting arrested for the warrant. Of course I just applied at a awesome job that will hire me if I clear the check. Stupidly go in to deal with this now. After Wednesday I will be fine but they said to call Monday to see if everything went through.
So will a misdemeanor bench warrant in California on a fishing ticket show up on a job back round check?
