Hi, we are on a month-to-month lease. I read your forum and found many useful advice. However, the landlord refused to help give us a "Notice to Quit" and to renew the contract without the problematic roommate due to "not having just cause". The roommate threatened my boyfriend over an argument, he said "I will hit you. Do not put words in my mouth. I will hit you."
All 3 of us reside in one apartment. My b.f. and I don't want to live with a violent person. Is a verbal threat a just cause for eviction? We already opened a file with the police in case something happens. Will the landlords get in trouble if we came to them with a serious issue like this and do not receive help? What will it take to change the terms of the agreement since it is a month-to-month contract so that the problem roommate is on sublease instead of being a cotenant?
