Default How to Dispute Medical Charges I Think are Unreasonable

My question involves medical malpractice in the state of: PA

These charges are unreasonable and are taking advantage of patients. I went in pain for a year because my Dr. just let me go until things were worse.

You go through hell at a pain clinic, at least in my state you do, because of regulations you are treated as if you are an addict by being handed a pee cup upon arrival.

Pain clinic patients are charged unreasonable fee's without fault of their own. First off there is travel expense, driving 50+ miles for 1 pain med is unreasonable and its not a very strong med.

Urine tests: Billed $50 for each test they do Opiates, Benzodiazepines, Methadone, Amphetamines, Cocaine, Barbiturates, Phencyclidine, Ethanol, Nicotine
    that's 9x50 + $450

Saliva tests: Opiates, Phencyclidine $550 now we are at $1000

Urine & saliva tests are every month, insurance pays some but not all,

I'm looking at over $2000 now to pay out.

This is clearly taking advantage of patients (me) if I do not take the meds I cannot walk.

Am I supposed to give up my quality of life? I cannot afford all of this anymore. Who do you call, who even cares about this?

Do I have to sell my home because I cannot walk & cannot afford this anymore. Then I will need to apply for welfare.

Should I just tell my doctor I cannot afford the pain clinic anymore & request a scooter or wheelchair through medicare? Then I will need state assistance transportation also to go to the store etc.

I don't know what to do anymore all I'm getting is bills from the pain clinic & these labs. All of this for a pain pill so I can walk. It appears to me I am being forced to go on welfare.

I feel as if all I do is fight with insurance companies, request appeals and have gone through hell, I don't receive any funds from welfare, I'm on my own.

It's not the provider's fault that you live 50 miles away.

Look. I'm not unsympathetic. So let's start with, "Have you actually contacted social services to see what's available and if you qualify?"

I understand. No I have not contacted them, I will not qualify, I am in the gray area of income, people like me don't get any help until we've exhausted all of our assets. The rules are all backwards forcing people to sell and go on welfare.

You're just making up the answers you think you'll get. Until you've actually checked into it, you have no way of knowing for sure.

If your pain is as you state, you will not be able to use a scooter due to the suspension. The best and cheapest solution is the nerve block solution I proposed if it will work. I am not protesting your complaint. The average cost to me is about $70 a month for opiate treatment. including drug tests office visits etc.. Unfortunately, I use them for more than just the back and leg pain. If you are able, move to a state where you can just stay stoned by state law. Grow your own. I am stuck here due to my spouse still working.
