I received a summary violation for retail theft last spring. I am currently attending Penn State University as a Senior. I went to our local grocery store. I picked up the basket and did some shopping. After picking out all my items, I was on my way to the register. A girl that worked at that store that I know (she's my neighbor), called me over to her register. She started to scan the items. She didn't scan all of the items, she just simply placed them in the bag. I didn't say anything to her. Her store manager walked up and told me and her to follow him to the back office, so we did. He called the police, and her and I received citations for "retail theft". At first I didn't think nothing of it. I paid my fines and I completed my community service work. Now I think that I was wrongfully accused for retail theft, since I didn't walk out of the store, and didn't hide the items, I simply went to pay for the items. Can I appeal my case in the Court of Appeals, or is it to late? It happened in State College, PA. I want to go into law enforcement in couple of months, and I don't want this kind of summary citation on my record. Please, anyone with any suggesstions, give me some advice. Thank you. Karl
