Default I was not in lease

Hello, I was renting a room from a woman and paying her rent every month.
for about 4 moths. Little did I know she wasnt paying rent and got evicted. I have no idea where she is and all of my belongings are in that apartment. I want to know is there any way for me to retrive my belongings. The property management company will not talk to me becasue im not on the lease. How can I get my things out?

A: Sue them in small claims for the amount the stuff is worth.

Your rights depend on state law, but you chose not to disclose your state.

California offers an extensive guide to tenant's rights, although I don't see that it addresses this particular issue. I suspect that seniorjudge is correct.
