    Default Charged With Spraying Graffiti

My question involves criminal law for the state of: California

I have a few questions based on my current situation. My younger sister(minor) wrote her intials with spray paint on a brick wall where we live, Which just so happen to be my intials also. I was accused of it but my sister told the police officer she did it. The officer still issued me the citation and said to bring her with me to the arraignment. Should I bring her? Just go by myself and plead not guilty? My family already paid the property owner to fix it. I have no prior criminal record of any sort and just need some advice on what to expect at the arraignment. I have never been to court so I'm a little nervous.

I don't see any reason for witnesses at an arraignment. At the arraignment you will be asked for a plea and likely asked if you need appointed counsel.

    How old are you?

If you have an attorney he or she might be able to speak to the DA there and convince them to drop the matter. But, a lot will depend on what evidence the police have that YOU committed the crime as opposed to your sister.

So, why would the police think of you and not her? Why would she spray paint her initials on a fence or wall? Certainly there is something more than the initials.
