My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: California
Hello! So my name is not on the lease of this two bedroom apartment. We have a month-to-month verbal agreement. I have been paying about 58% of the total rent and much more than my fair share of utilities. I didn't ask to see the actual rent of the unit or ever see a pg&e bill. Yesterday she completely rearranged the living room, put a bed in there, and all of her brother/wife belongings into the apartment. They also have two children living here now.
She told me rent was due today (the regular portion of rent that i had been paying)
I told her that it would be ridiculous to charge me the same price since there are four extra people living in the apartment now. She told me that it's actually very fair and I am the only person (my significant other and I actually rent one bedroom from this master tenant and have always paid in cash upfront anything she demanded) who would have a problem with it. I refused to pay her. She tried to tell me $500 was ok and I still disagreed. I told her I want to know what the actual rent is on her lease, and what the PG&E bill is; she told me that she doesn't have to show that to me lol. So she threatened to call 911- which she did, and they told her that they're not coming because this is a civil issue. True. So, I spoke with her again and she asked me what I wanted to pay- I told her my fair portion: that the rent should be at MOST 1/4 of the total rent. She told me that children don't count as people in the apartment and I said they do because they use the toilet/the shower and use space just like anyone over 18 would. (they are not new borns, they walk and play and make noise)

Up until now I have been a great room mate, feeding her pets for her, doing her dishes, and always honoring the rental agreement we have. But I think she has just pushed it too far. So she wants me to pay 1/3 of the rent (even though there are 8 people living here) and I don't have use of the living room at ALL since people are sleeping there. She wants us out in 30 days too.
What would be a fair scenario with the rent I owe and the PG&E I should pay. I have been paying over half the PG&E (i know this) because it is a low-income housing apartment so they get utility discounts. Also there is an overcrowding issue I believe, as there are eight people in a two-bedroom apartment with only 1 bathroom. I have no problem getting out of here even though I really liked living here now since this master tenant has completely violated our living arrangement and disrespected me when demanding rent and moving four new people into the living room...

What should I do? Do I have rights? The rent she was charging me per month is $750 at the end of each month and $70 for utilities on the 15th of each month. She is the only one on the lease for this low income 2 bedroom apartment.
