Question Obstructing Justice in South Carolina

My question involves criminal law for the state of: south carolina

Hi. My best friend was questioned in a investigation about a robbery. He was asked if he knew someone and said no. Well due to phn records they charged him with obstructing justice. He has never been in trouble, but has no money for attnry. They wont give him due to his family income. What will possibly happen in court? Should he just take charge or can he ask for extention in order to retain counseling?

He should retain counsel before he goes to court. He can discuss the charge and possible approaches with his lawyer.

What will happen in court? That depends on the nature of the hearing.
