My question involves criminal law for the state of: Maine
I own a home and have boarders living with me. They are good friends and things have been great. I have just found out that one of them is currently going through a legal preceding in which he has been charge with sexual abuse of a minor. The case is going to trial and he has not been convicted of anything yet, the prosecution has delayed the trial three times now. I really do not want my house to show up on any of the offender registries but I do not know how these proceedings work. When they have the trial is he going to have to give my address to the court and if he is convicted does my house show up on the registries immediately? Can he give his parents address as his residence? If he does have to give my address and is convicted is it possible to remove my house after he moves out? I am not sure what to do.
Thank you for any information and advice.
