    Default Federal Disorderly Conduct Charge

My question involves criminal law for the state of: federal/ Missouri

I'm not going to go into extream detail about what happened, I'll just say I was at the St. Louis arch and had a knife that is legal at home. I threw it away in a trash can so my wife could go up in the arch. A ranger apparently saw it made me go get it,a and bring it to him. He said if my check comes back clean I was free to go. It came back clean and all was good, then he starts playing with the knife, it was a assisted open my thumb lever (not a switchblade). He then writes a ticked for disorderly conduct, hiding a knife. I asked the ranger if this is going to hurt me since I have a app in with a local police department. He said no, just pay it and it won't affect you at all.

Non the less the ticket was 36 cfr 2.34

I was not taken away, I was not arrested, I was not fingerprinted, or required to appear in court. Just a $100 fine

I pay the ticket online at cvb, and notice it say collection of petty offenses only.

So 2 months after this whole mess I have a background check done. Comes back clean, hired, but couldn't start then because of a upcoming back surgery.

So flash forward to today or this month. I had a friend run my background at his station, comes back clean

The chief in my town, and my friend say its a infraction. However the us attorney's office claims it's a misdemeanor, but is treated like a parking ticket and is a code violation. ok back to a small minor.

I'm real confused, it isn't showing up on any background checks is there a way to find out what it is?

The penalty for a violation of 36 CFR 2.34 varies by the classification of the park. For the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, the operative subparagraph appears to be (b), "...shall be punished by a fine as provided by law, or by imprisonment for not more than 3 months, or by both", making the offense a Class B Misdemeanor.
