I was caught shoplifting a few packs of gum at a supermarket. I was identified by a plain clothed loss protection person and they took me to a back room, photocopied my id, made me sign a statement and then said they would let me off with a warning. I then paid for the items. However they kept asking me if I had done it before. I kept saying i hadn't but I have. Could they look through security footage and identify me from previous times? It's quite a big supermarket so I feel like it wouldn't be worth their while to spend the time looking through footage, but what are the chances of this?
I also felt like the reason I was caught was because they had identified me a previous time and decided to watch me this time? Is there any reason they wouldn't mention the previous time?
Also just to add - I do feel very guilty and ashamed and I will never do it again EVER.
