My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Virginia
The other night I wasn't able to make it to work was terminated same night.
I signed a contract with my employer that states "All policy's and procedures will be followed there will be write ups for jobs not done correctly and rules and regulations not being followed. This also pertains to call outs and lates as well. Three write ups equal termination." It was the first time I have missed work in my 8months with the company. And gave 5 hours notice to inform I couldn't make it. I have not received any write ups during my time with the company. I know Virginia is at will but can I be terminated having signed this contract with my employer? They also just sent a text stating I was terminated to my phone to inform me of my termination.
Any help would be appreciated.
