My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Nevada and Federal Unemployment
Two weeks ago, my immediate supervisor accused me of a breach of trust with my supervisor's boss. I was placed on a week and a half of unpaid administrative leave, during which an "investigation" was conducted. I have not been given the results of that investigation, but they have asked me to resign because of the initial accusation.
I am a federal employee, but reside and work in Nevada. Today, my boss requested my resignation. If I do not tenure my resignation, I will be "terminated."
My boss has said that they will not dispute my claim for unemployment if I resign. However, I do not know what to mark when I apply for benefits. My options on the application:
1. I Quit My Job (In the sub menu I can indicate the following: Leave it blank, Disciplinary Action, Employer was going to discharge or lay me off, Gave notice and was told to leave, Other - quit, or To look for new employment)
2. I was discharged or fired from my job (In the sub menu I can indicate the following: Leave it blank, Breach of confidentiality, Directed to leave upon quit, Other - discharged/fired, Probationary discharge, Work Performance)
3. I was put on a disciplinary suspension and/or administrative leave (I am technically still on leave pending my resignation/termination. My only concern with this is eventually, I will have to indicate that I have been separated and I am back to square one)
4. Mutual Agreement
An advice on which choice would be best to ensure that I receive benefits would be greatly appreciated.
