My question involves an injury that occurred in the state of: IL
A student at a local highschool I know had an incident happen today in which the student hit a peer on the head with a binder. It was apparently in a joking manner. The peer left class and went to the emergency room...this is all that is known about the peer...I would assume there are no serious injuries though. Later the student was called down to the office and a police officer and said to come into the police station the following day and that under no circumstances should the parents or peer be spoken to.
this is all that is known so far. I would assume the student was asked to come in for questioning? but why was the student told not to contact the peer/parents of the peer.....have charges been pressed yet? Does the student or should the student even go in to the police station? Is it reasonable to talk to the the parents of the peer and try to work things out?
do we need a lawyer at this point?
